World Hope Foundation Texas USA

In the year 2000 the Lord brought Michael Harris into contact with World Hope Ministries when Michael approached the Mayfair Baptist Church to request a Bible for a Prisoner named Ricky Abbott. Rev Willie came to 'catch' Michael's 'vision' - which is to take a Bible placement and Spiritual Programme into every Prison in South Africa and into every Prison of the World. That very first meeting with Willie resulted in Michael introducing World Hope Ministries into the Prison Ministry, then working with WHM as a spiritual worker, and promoting WHM in South African Prisons, from 2000 to 2005. What started in one Prison ("Sun City" Johannesburg, South Africa) in 2000 is today running in 180 Prisons in South Africa, and is being used in other Prisons in the World. The discipleship course, which includes a Bible placement programme, has reached 23,000 Prisoners. Rev Willie Dengler of the Mayfair Baptist Church and President of World Hope Ministries Africa regularly travels overseas where he promotes Michael's original 'vision'. The Training of spiritual workers as well as helping and working with Released Prisoners today forms an integral part of the FC-OC 2007 'VISION'.

He was transferred to John Vorster Square Police Station and worked in the special branch. He was also a Pastor in the Apostolic Faith Mission of South Africa. This is where her passion began for inmates. On the 5th October 1999 she successfully completed a 15 week practical introduction in the Christian Faith Group Leaders' course at the Johannesburg Prison in Alpha in Prisons. She also taught a group of spiritual workers at the Johannesburg Correctional Services the basic Prison counselling Course whereby all of them received a Certificate for successfully completing the course. Michael attended this course, received a certificate and went to assist Dr. Pearl with her pre-release Prison Programme. She is also an ordained Pastor, and Dean of the Maranatha Bible Ministries Bible School. Dr. Pearl has completed her Grade B in Criminology. Dr. Pearl Botha’s career: Appointed IPV for Johannesburg Correctional Services. From 1 June 2000 until 30 November 2002 where she was injured in Medium A Prison. Appointed executive member of the Johannesburg Community Corrections Forum, she was executive Chairperson from 2005 to December 2006. She was expected inter-alia, to promote Correctional Supervision as a sentence and placement option, to initiate policy amendment as well as to accommodate the needs of the community in this regard. When she saw how the inmates were struggling to get a hearing with the parole board, she started a pre-release counselling project in the Johannesburg Correctional Services, she researched it, and compiled a pre-release counselling programme in a little booklet which was run by her and two of the people she trained in this counselling. She did the counselling, and made assesments after dealing with the crime committed one on one. Her reports to the Correctional Supervision and Parole Board has enabled the Board to make more informed decisions regarding the placement of offenders on parole. She has been involved not only with the counselling of offenders in matters relating to pre-release but has played an integral role in the counselling of Prison Wardons, in the absence of the EAP at Johannesburg Management Area. She volunteered to work in the Victim Empowerment section of Langlaagte Police station. She has a Certificate for: Basic Crime Scene Management Victim Skills Removal of Children.
